It's interesting that our blog seems to be on West Coast time. It was definetly not 10:45 when people posted last night...

In the previous posts this week, people managed to forget the crawling under the table incident, which involved our latest addition to TAT following Lindsay's example and crawling under our table to get out, but aiming wrong and bashing his head on the bottom of the table next to ours. He was unhurt, though everyone in the bar was suddenly silent and staring at Evan.

I feel that it may be time to stop claiming that we go to the tap with "people we wouldn't usually hang out with," because I, for one, find myself hanging out with these people more and more, and it's feeling fairly "usual" now. Definetly people I wouldn't have expected to be hanging out with this much about 2 years ago, or even about 4 months ago, but it's getting pretty usual by now. And it's fantastic.

Paul, Tap After Tape has long been the goal of everyone's week. Each week, I know that if I can just make it to Thursday, I'll survive. I know that no matter what happens the entire rest of the week, Thursday will come and it will all turn out alright in the end.

sometimes i like to say that my post-tap, tipsy shower is better than tap after tape itself, but this is a blatant lie. the tipsy shower is lovely mostly because it follows tap-ing with my favorite singing people, so while i shampoo stale cigarette smoke out of my hair while leaning against the tiles so as not to fall over, i am thinking of funny and lovely conversations, beer and nachos, and me declaring that i have gotten to "number f" on my problem set while sipping my leinies. shall we end up somewhere other than the tap next week, seeing as jeremy (which IS his name) will be absent, doing something we can only imagine is fascinating and maybe involves nascar? who knows. but i can only predict that "--- after tape" will be every bit as ludicrously wonderful. econ time for me. la LA. star spangled badger.

"Lindsay, I just have to say that your cleavage is out of control in that shirt and I'm trying not to look at it." Jana said this tonight somewhere between finishing her econ homework and drinking the last of our fourth pitcher. Evan came with us tonight, a fabulous addition. Jeremy wasn't there, which made us all sad, because the waitress we had was nowhere near as good. I mean, she carded us, and charged us for everything we ordered, and wasn't very good about checking in on us, and none of us wanted to have her babies. But at the end of the night we saw Jeremy! He had been doing paperwork or something, which he indicated with a typing-like motion, and was not waiting tables. Damn. He said he wouldn't be there next week either, so we may go somewhere else.

I don't really understand why it's so nice and fun to go to the Tap on Thursday nights with people I never thought I'd be hanging out with, but it is. Now I am sleepy and happy. It's a great prelude to Friday.

i like the way mike writes as though he is an impartial 3rd party, and not as though we all watched him drink several pints and eat nachos voraciously.
;)

Even during spring break, Tap After Tape continues. We were sadly missing two key figures in Tap After Tape (Lindsay and Marisa) but with a crew of Mike, Flannery, Jana, and Aaron Palm (Mike's good friend from HS), we persevered. As always, life was good. Our fantastic waiter walked up to our table at one point and said "We have an extra Leinie's Original and an extra Amstel. Do you guys want them?" What a question. Our waiter rocks, and when he gave us that third pitcher for free...

Exciting events: Aaron spilled beer all over himself as he was going for the nachos, and everyone was sad for the loss of a pint. Much discussion of choirs and choral stuff in general, as Aaron happens to be a music ed major and complete choral music dork. No friends with bling today.

never underestimate the power of leinie's. our waiter (whose name may or may not be jeremy) has inspired a ridiculous sort of fries-and-beer-induced lust in all that sit at the tap after tape table. the ladies, anyway. tonight marisa, lindsay and i decided that we wanted his children...or at least some sort of opportunity to produce them. flannery remained quiet, although i will always maintain that it was only out of respect for mike. here's to fried pickles and singing the ford hunger march. huzzah.

Greetings, and welcome to Tap After Tape. The fun defies explaination. This blog serves mostly as a quote board. At the moment, I just have to say that I love Tap After Tape, and I often make a fool of myself, and I love our waiter. Tonight we saw Laurie Hamre and Mark Dickinson and other Macalester staff type people. They were at our table, because we were there early. Laurie Hamre looked at us and said, "Hey, can I see some IDs?" It was kind of weird. Hooray for spring break! Lastly, a memory from last week, and this one:

"Mike has friends with bling!"

Love, Lindsay
